One of the earliest waring signs that a frontline worker in developing PTSD is an increase in irritability and anger outbursts. And it usually comes out at home. This is the starting point for getting control of your PTSD so you don't end up friendless, single, and missing out on raising your kids.

Tactical Breathing
Severe Distress entails respiratory alkalosis. Reverse that state by slowing your breath to rebalance your carbon dioxide.
Ice Packs
Activate the mammalian dive reflex by putting an icepack across your sinuses and placing your head between your knees. Hold your breath for 20 seconds then slowly sit up.
Burst exercise
Intense exercise will rapidly rebalance your blood carbon dioxide levels which quickly resolves the respiratory alkalosis caused by Distress.
